Push Majeure

In this performance, I’m researching how aggressiveness and images of violence and anger can be used as a productive force, rather than just a notion of destruction. Doing so by transforming movements and behaviourism prone to subcultures as punk and metal, taking them out of their usual context. To see the potential of violence and anger as a productive force, I have investigated ways to distinguish between how and why it has been used. Talking from an intersectional point of view, how does violent and aggressive acts differ depending on whether it’s rooted in immoral treatment, or a behaviour to maintain an oppressed situation? How are the affects of those acts felt on the body?

Accompanied live by Maria W. Kvalheim (she/her), the audience is invited into a smaller, almost intimate space, where their level of comfort and sense of risk might be tested. Premiered in Oslo, March 2023
